Shield
The color Gules (brick red) was used to indicate the Transportation Corps and buff was used to represent the Quartermaster Corps. The six points of the fess allude to the six citations awarded the organization during World War II and the Korean War. The chief, suggested by the shoulder sleeve insignia of the 1st Cavalry Division, refers to the close association of the organization with that Division.
Crest
The tiger refers to Indo-China where the unit participated in thirteen campaigns and received six decorations for service in Vietnam. The tiger also alludes to the jungle area of Pleiku Province where the organization received the Presidential Unit Citation, denoted by the blue lightning flash. The fishhook represents the Valorous Unit Award for "Operation Cambodia." The color scarlet connotes the three Meritorious Unit Commendations and the Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry (with Palm).
The coat of arms was originally approved for the 15th Supply and Transport Battalion on 18 September 1963. It was redesignated for the 15th Supply and Service Battalion on 20 June 1966. It was redesignated for the 15th Supply and Transport Battalion on 28 October 1971. The insignia was amended to add a crest on 13 December 1972. It was redesignated for the 115th Support Battalion with the symbolism amended on 22 April 1987.
